SHANNON M. HAHN, CLU, joins The Downey Group, Inc. with over a decade of experience in the life insurance industry, originally starting her career in technology and agency operations.

Ms. Hahn has been a member of the M Financial community since 2004. While employed by M Financial in Portland, Oregon, she analyzed technology and operational system initiatives and led the Member Firm User Group which included over 50 Member Firms. While traveling across the country, she learned the unique aspects of life insurance and was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit and caliber of M Member Firms. In 2007, Ms. Hahn joined Ormiston Jamieson, LLC, an M Member Firm, to advance her study of life insurance as well as the important aspects of estate planning and wealth transfer.

As a producer with The Downey Group, Ms. Hahn educates her clients on the benefits of life insurance and the options that fit their goals. Life insurance is complex and Ms. Hahn is an analyst at heart. She designs individualized plans for professionals, business owners and law firms. Planning is an important aspect of Ms. Hahn’s family life as she has a sister with special needs. Her specialties include advanced life insurance planning, underwriting multiple health impairments, wealth transfer, annuities, complex disability planning and long term care planning for professionals and businesses.

Ms. Hahn’s current professional licenses include the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, FINRA Series 6 & 63, Illinois Life/Health, and 12 additional state insurance licenses. Ms. Hahn is an advocate for the insurance industry through the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Chicago, the Association of Advanced Underwriters (AALU), and a member of The American College Alumni Association. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Chicago, and The Mid America Club.

Ms. Hahn is a 1999 graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and a member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association.
